Icons, icons and more icons. The story of my career at UGS. I worked as an interface designer and usability engineer for nearly seven years, working closely with teams across the globe and an developing on cutting edge technologies. During my tenure I serviced a host of customers, including: NASA Jet Propulsion Labs, Boeing, Apple, General Motors, Pratt & Whitney, Seagate, Cisco, Microsoft, Electric Boat and more.
The final designs I completed prior to leaving UGS are now being released. We spent years working on new and better ways to get the PLM experience to users. Building on a .net stack and using MS UI is the by far the most ubiquitous and obvious way, and I’m happy they finally got there.
While working at UGS I was pivotal in bringing positive change to a cumbersome and complicated interface. I worked closely with architects software engineers to simplify and cleanse the interface and to accomodate users that were new to managed data and the world of Teamcenter. This video provides a concise overview of some of this work in the Teamcenter small-medium sized business solution.
An excellent case study outlining the value of managed data and how the products I designed and developed served the needs of our customers and took them to new heights.
