A man who pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide will have to display a large picture of his victim in his home after serving two years in prison, a judge has ordered.
After getting out of prison, Arthur Pierce, 31, will have to prominently display a photograph at least 2 feet wide of his victim, 17-year-old Chelsi Gregory, wherever he is living. Circuit Judge Robert Doyel said below the photograph must be “respectful lettering that says: ‘I’m sorry I killed you.”‘
Pierce’s probation officer will also be allowed to search his residence at any time. If he does not have the photograph displayed, it will be considered a probation violation, Doyel said. An advocate for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Elizabeth Sheetz, requested the photograph be part of Pierce’s sentence, according to The Ledger of Lakeland.
Yup, that’s part of his sentence. Anyone have another crazy stories of judges giving out ‘les-than-conventional’ coniditions of release?
To all the folks who are complaining about the RIAA and the MPAA and DVD encrytption, etc. I’d like to say “Get Over It”. Just let it go, there are much bigger problems in the world today and sometimes it’s best just to walk away and expend your energy on more important things.
Case in point, the RIAA radar which “is a tool that music consumers can use to easily and instantly distinguish whether an album was released by a member of the Recording Industry Association of America.” Great I needed one of those so the next time I purchase an album I know I am pissing off a bunch of miserly little geeks in camo shorts and black socks who don’t like DRM.
Hammer versus Head 2007. Anyone want to venture a guess about the substances being consumed when this little tiff happened? Also where was curly when this was going on, seems like they were a man short…wise guy eh?
Two men in Kissimmee, Fla., were hospitalized Sunday night when they became involved in a fight involving a hammer, according to police.
Investigators said the two men were fighting at the Hidden Cove apartment complex when one of them grabbed a hammer and hit the other in the head.
The man who was hit then wrestled the hammer away and hit the other man in the head, police said.
Both of the men were airlifted with serious head injuries.
The men were not identified in the report.

Sorry Ma.gnolia, I have to break things off. While your looks are striking and your attitude sassy you’re just way to slow and frankly a little too dumb for me. Sure Del.icio.us isn’t as pretty and maybe a little feature-fat, she can do daily blog posting and several other cool tricks that you just can’t seem to learn. I hate to do it, but I have to go, xmlrpc is calling.
You can always call Kirk…

Des Moines Register Article: Fallen Power Lines Close I-80

it can’t be true Posted by: tbone
The Des Moines Register says that this “ice” storm is because of global warming. They also say knifing an innocent unborn child (fetus), until it bleeds to death is a choice.

I typically make the choice when I murder children.
Unborn children though … are not really self sustaining life forms on their own … nor are they entirely innocent.
I know several women friends who conceived “naughty” children in very “naughty ways.”

Mrs. Hollis Resnick.
Maybe the Register should consider turning off comments on posts that don’t really need discussion, this is a little out of hand.
The NBA has become a wreck over the past fifteen years or so. And nothing would improve a deteriorating league more than a great All-Star week. But yet, the league and its fans have managed to squash that, with nearly 300 NBA-festivity-related arrests made in Vegas this weekend…and the game is not even being played until tonight. Looks live they’ve traded in the peach basket and long socks for things more sinister, and a commissioner playing his violin all the while.
Former governor-in-absentia now turned presidential candidate Tommy Vilsack has added another “job” to his list of duties. He’ll be a Renewable Energy Consultant for Berkshire-Hathaway owned Mid-American Energy. He will be paid hourly and, according to the story in the Des Moines Register, he doesn’t “remember what his salary will be.” Way to break from the “politics-as-usual” spin and doublespeak Tommy. It’s gotta be tough to keep track of who’s paying you what in that hustle and bustle campaign-lifestyle of yours. One option would be to simply say “it’s none of your business”, I guess the other option is to just lie and say you don’t remember. Tommy V, making Iowans proud one day at a time.
I’ve been trying out a new enhanced voicemail service this last week and I’ve been quite impressed. You Mail allows me to check my voicemail online as well as a host of other cool features, all for free. Currently they support Verizon, Cingular & T-Mobile, and have online voice mail setups for most handsets.

You can see it in their eyes, Vista rocks… it rocks the dude second from the right to sleep. Microsoft is filled with smart, talented people. Seems it takes more than that for a monolithic company to deliver innovative products that excite people, even their own people and partners.

Brusheezy is an open community for Photoshop brush makers/users/drawers to grab, rate and share brushes. Pretty simple idea that’s going to certainly be popular, hopefully this won’t be overrun with amateur brush hooligans. On first glance it looks there are some high quality brushes (too bad there’s no direct linking to specific examples).
I would avoid counting the number of times I used the word brush in this post…
