New Site’s Up - Sorta

I’ve taken the MobileMe approach and pushed the new site design up before it was 100% tested and proofed. I’ll be doing more in depth browser testing as time allows. Lots more to do, I was just eager to get it up and out.

Tidbit in the iTunes EULA You Must Read

The Apple Blog reminds us of a very important line in the iTunes license agreement:

[Don't use iTunes for illegal activity]……including, without limitation, the development, design, manufacture, or production of nuclear missiles or chemical or biological weapons.

That’s right folks, don’t use iTunes for making bombs.

Oh Hey, You Caught Us Blogging with the Blogs

Floodin’

Well time to pull up and leave the new office space. We’re on the second floor and there’s no chance of real trouble here, but we fall within the 500 year flood plain and as such have been asked to immediately evacuate. POwer and internet will likely be going down here in the next little bit.

Weezer - Pork & Beans

I’m a little surprised that REM didn’t beat them to this punch, but the end result is stellar. Best part is that it’s the real people, not some faked version of the lame crap (see Dunkerton’s Law)

* Dunkerton’s Law states that when referencing lame crap if you don’t use the original characters the subject becomes lame rather than ironic.**

**there is no Dunkerton’s Law

Erector Set Madness

Using only an erector set and warped judgement this flickr-poster has managed to create one really awful looking and only slightly useful monitor+laptop mashup.

Pish Posh Baby - Do Yourself a Favor and Buy Elsewhere

We recently purchased a Bob Revolution Dualie stroller (yeah I know fun stuff right), from Pish Posh Baby in New Jersey. Along with this behemoth of a stroller (which we really love) we also ordered some other needed accessories. For instance we needed the attachments for an infant carrier since this new stroller is to tote around our 2yr old and the new baby.

Well we got the stroller but no accessories. We called (and called - and called since they aren’t open on Saturdays) and finally got through a week after the initial order receipt, and were told they had just forgotten. Oh. Well I forget stuff sometime, just usually not on orders that end in so many zeros. When I saw the UPS slip for 5lbs online I knew something was a miss since one of the products was easily 3x that weight alone. We called to confirm and were told everything was coming.

I assume you know how this story goes…we were missing the big piece in the package we received today. After another 45 minutes of phone time we found out they were out of stock in that item as of last week (a full two weeks after our initial order). Curious. I love the products - just not the retailer.

Sorry Means Little

So the story has been preading about the 88 yearl old, former German pilot who shot down his favorite author during World War II.

“I am shocked and sorry,” the ex-Luftwaffe pilot said yesterday. “Who knows what other great books he would have gone on to write?”

Really? What about the other 27 pilots, maybe they could have cured cancer or lived to spend another day with their families. I wonder what children they would have gone on to father, or how many lives they would have touched. The fact that the victim was an author seems so arbitrary against a backdrop of 72 million people who lost their lives in that war. There’s no romance in it, if anything it’s an extremely selfish persective from a killer.
