…From a technical perspective, the Yellow Fade Technique is usually achieved by suddenly switching the element’s background colour style from white to yellow, then using “Scheduling” to run through a continuous spectrum of background colours, starting with yellow and ending with white.
…And if we find that we’re going well above and beyond what we’ve outlined in a job order, we either address it directly via a change request, or simply decide that this is what it takes to get the job done.
Oh TechCrunch peoples - you so crazy. Community-sourced software has yet to give us a compelling and simple interface - don’t think there’s a chance in hell that community-sourced hardware+software will ever be simple, certainly not on the scale of anything Apple does. Democracy will always lose out to the crushing hand of intense investment+real vision+amazingly talented ID/software folks. Just the way it is, without the real pressure of investors and markets and customers these projects are never more than exercises, student projects at best. And the union of interface and hardware by committee yields bloat and baggage - hell they’ve already put so many requirements in the mix it’s becoming hard to see what it will be (must have a mic, must have video, etc.), especially paired with near-arbitrary software+hardware constraints.
I’ve taken the MobileMe approach and pushed the new site design up before it was 100% tested and proofed. I’ll be doing more in depth browser testing as time allows. Lots more to do, I was just eager to get it up and out.
