A Few More iPhone Wallpapers

In honor of the newly revamped downloads page (now with icons) go grab a couple of new iPhone wallpaper sets:

BlogOrlando
NASCAR Hoods

I have a lot more to get posted, about 50 more at last count. Including: Jackson Pollock snippets, a few MLB logos and maybe some Premiere League soccer stuff.

Seth Godin Google Speech

I had forgotten about this video, such a great speaker.

Political Braindump

Why do I feel like the race has already been plotted out, that the candidates chosen? Regardless, I’m still a Joe Biden fan, and wish that those of you already choosing one of the other Democratic candidates would take a minute or two and at least consider Senator Biden. He’s not as sexy or hip or black or female of corrupt or out-of-touch or expensive haircutty or Clintony as the others, but he’s a hard worker, a civil servant, a leader and pragmatist. I used to think we needed ideology and experience was secondary, but I’ve found the inverse to be true. To get things done and affect real change we need someone to lead us there, not wish us there. I believe that person is Joe Biden. It’s not about electability or sexiness or new-ness, it’s about making our world better.

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

subtitle: It’s hard to say you love someone, and it’s hard to say you don’t - Del Amitri

Maybe I’m a sentimental fool (hat tip Michael McDonald), or just a little more sensitive than most - but seeing a former client move on and start working with another designer always makes me a little sad. Regardless of how amicable the separation was, you always feel a little sting in the “it’s not you it’s me” that always comes to pass. And while you know it’s inevitable and you’re excited to see the new stuff, you always sort of wish you were still part of the old game.

But on the upside, it looks like I’m going to be doing some very cool stuff in the next few months and am working on a partnership or two that have tremendous potential, so I’m very stoked.

What about you? Do any of you struggle when you step out of client relationships and move on?

Forget It You Pixelated Pirates

My daughter has started saying a classic 80’s arcade phrase…wokka wokka wokka. So in honor of that tremendous cuteness, I present to you the best Futurama clip ever. Enjoy.

The Bubble Has Un-Bursted, The Glam is De-Glamified

Well, looks like the great Scoble blog-reprieve of 2007 lasted about 5 days or so. Robby is back at it and good golly is he adding value. I’m a big fan of his latest post, the “Facebook Hotel”, and by big fan I mean…well the opposite of a big fan. The real meat in potatoes comes at the end, like most of his posts:

Oh, one thing? In my Facebook Hotel anyone who just attacks me would be deleted. So, if that’s your idea of fun, hang out somewhere else cause I’m starting to delete comments from people who don’t add any value here. Get your own blog if all you want to do is attack me.
emphasis mine

Naked conversation indeed. I know this is certainly open to some discussion regarding what is an attack and what ‘adds value’ (obviously a phrase Mr. S. has latched onto), but regardless, this is the epiphany he reached while gone on the journey for 5 days? The best he comes back with is ‘get your own blog’? Well fine then, here it is. Ahhh, one-way is truly the way to go.
