Downloads - Time to Poll The Crowd

I’ve got a question for all of you Crawlspace faithful…I have a boatload (lots) of new iPhone wallpapers and other downloads ready to post and make available. I’m curious how you’d like them organized, so the user experience side of me said stoop guessing and ask the users. So here’s the options, comment and ‘vote’ or forever zip it.

Option 1: Groups of downloads as individual pages, this is the current model, linked from the main download page. So if I add new wallpapers, for instance, they would be organized by category and available in small chunks as their own page (star wars wallpapers, monty python wallpapers, etc.), this means more pages with more focused content that can be zipped.

Option 2: Have download ‘type’ pages, so there would only be one wallpaper page, with lots and lots of images. This makes for a single browse-able page but takes away the ability to download zips. This makes navigation easier and items more browse-able, but takes away categorization.

Option 3: You don’t care or you have a better idea, feel free to share.

Thanks for your help, if no one responds I’ll consider it a vote for sticking with the way things are.

I would prefer the download page as it is. A title of the new set of wallpapers and the images that I can “skim” like the new iPhoto ‘08. This would allow me to see all the images with out having to click the link to see ALL the images of that group.

  3. I like how it is as well. I could see where you may need to divide that main page more (maybe just with headings for swatches, wallpaper, etc) once you have several types, but a good main listing is easier to drill down to what I’m looking for.
